Neil Gaiman

Neil Gaiman (1960-) needs no introduction. He is a living legend with his genre-defying, award-winning novels, graphic novels, plays, and what not. I am actually a little embarressed to admit that I have yet to read something from his hand – he is the kind of authentic author, we all dream of becoming. He writes whatever genre he wants to, is heralded as one of the creators of modern comics, and did I mention he has won pretty much every award possible on both sides of the Atlantic.

Reading about him on-line on his own site and a number of others, I stumbled across a quotation that I love. Gaiman says he was a “feral child raised in libraries”. I can imagine an entire world and storyline from that short passage.
